Radical changes having overtaken my life since I last sat down to write, I am at a loss for how to express it all. Perhaps in ascending order of impact.
My "curious mania" still haunts me. No changes there, and probably there never will be any. It's my lot in life.
I joined an orchestra. I haven't played in an ensemble, or in any meaningful fashion, in eight years, but I'm back with a vengeance. I feel happy playing in a group, and never alone. My cello sings with joy at finding her purpose once again, and we all feel jealous of her. Ah, to be fit for purpose!
I have become an ardent fan of a fair few K-pop groups. BIGBANG and 4Minute top the list, not least of all due to the bizarre majesty of T.O.P. and the otherworldy cast to Hyuna's eyes.
I bought a car. It's a Subaru Legacy 2011 3.6R, and it's one of the neatest things I've ever owned. There is no regret associated with this purchase. It drives, and it's fun to drive. In the past, I might have contemplated this purchase endlessly before committing to it, balancing the pros and cons of a hundred different choices. This time, I did two hours of research, picked a car, test drove it, and bought it all in the space of one week. It is pretty boring living efficiently.
I had a child. Seraphina is one month old today, and has changed my life far less so far than she's bound to. I am desperately looking forward to the havoc she might wreak someday, but for now, I simply change the diapers when asked. She's pretty cute.
My eyes had stars in them once.
